The Mundaneum is located in a former Art Déco store. It is an archive centre, a place for temporary exhibitions, conferences and debates whose aim is to stage the utopian view of its two founders in 1895: bibliographer Paul Otlet and Henri Lafontaine, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize (1913). The Mundaneum has an exhibition room designed by François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters.
Open during the exhibition period:
- Tuesday to Saturday from 1 to 5pm
- Sunday until 6pm
- closed on Mondays and public holidays
- museum and archive centre closed during the Mons Ducasse
Opening hours of offices: Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, except for the week between Christmas and New Year.
Opening hours of the reading room, on prior request: Monday through Friday, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm
Guided tours - by reservation only - in French, Dutch, German and Italian:
- €80 for individuals and companies
- €60 for schools and associations (25 persons max.)
Guided tour every 1st Sunday of the month at 2.30pm: €5 pp, by reservation only
Free admission every 1st Wednesday of the month
